For this patio paver design, I wanted something that felt both timeless and relaxed, so I chose a herringbone pattern in warm, earthy sandstone. It’s laid over a compacted gravel base for good drainage, with a slightly irregular edge that softens against the garden. The joints are tight enough to keep weeds out, but the overall look is deliberately imperfect, like it’s been there for decades. It feels solid underfoot and creates a welcoming spot for morning coffee.
